Get the Look: Kitchens of Eastenders

If you've been following our blog, you might have already read our post on kitchens of Emmerdale. Soaps are a force to be reckoned with, with an average of 5 million people watching each episode of Eastenders on BBC iPlayer. They infiltrate our lives, challenging the way we view things and giving us something to talk about when the conversation runs dry.

Similarly, the way the characters on our screens decorate their homes might influence the way we decorate our own homes. The kitchens on Eastenders tend to be less glamorous than those of Emmerdale, but that doesn't mean that there aren't some great styling tips to be found on the soap.

Mick and Linda Carter's kitchen is painted and decorated in a soft grey colour, which is a far cry from their flamingo-covered bedroom walls. The tiles behind their oven and the wooden accents give the room some additional dimension, while the handles blend in beautifully with the rest of the room. Why not pair up some adhesive white brick wallpaper and round ended bow handles to create your own Carter inspired kitchen?

The Slater kitchen is cosy and cluttered. While this kitchen isn't as glamorous as Mick and Linda's, we love the soft under-cabient lighting and the big table. It's the perfect place to talk about this week's drama over a plate of Jean's sausage surprise. The Slaters have combined cup and bow handles in their kitchen to keep things interesting. Why not recreate the look with a selection of our brushed nickel arched handles and brushed nickel cup handles

Finally, we have Roxy's kitchen, which is decorated with contrasting warm and dark colours. We love the combination of dark wood and pale granite, especially with the orange cupboards and drawers added into the mix. The kitchen has been accessorised with striking, modern bow handles which finish things off perfectly. We sell a keyhole bar handle which would be perfect for you if you wanted to achieve a similar look!

We hope that this blog has inspired you to look more closely at your favourite soap family's kitchen! Perhaps you're even in the mood to redecorate now? Feel free to explore our blog some more to get more ideas, and we hope to hear from you if you do decide to freshen up your kitchen.
